We're always looking for new members! Whether you want to act, direct or help behind the scenes, everyone is welcome.
We have no restrictions on joining (apart from being at least 18), though you will need to audition to be involved in a production. We meet on every Monday evening from 8pm in the function room of the Parrs Wood pub (356 Parrs Wood Rd, Manchester M20 6JD). Please feel free to drop by and see what we get up to!
We are pleased to announce that our next show is a summer showcase! Details on how to get invovled below:
- Monday 16th June, 8pm at the Parrswood Inn - Bring ideas for the showcase, or come along if you want to join but don't have an act in mind. It is informal discussions that don't commit you to anything!
- Monday 23rd June, 8pm Parrswood Inn - Pitching - You've had a few weeks to form your ideas for the showcase, now it's time to pitch it to the committee! You can do this as an individual, as a group - or as an individual who wants to do a bigger group thing.
Based on the pitches, the committee will select acts for the showcase. These will go into a google doc which will be circulated, and those that want to be involved but don't have an act can express their interest in auditioning.
- Monday 30th Auditions, 8pm Parrswood Inn - Audition for acts you have expressed an interest in.
- Rehearsals: This is up to each act. If it's easier, your act(s) can use the Parrswood Inn on a Monday evening, which we will still have booked - or you can meet another day / place. There will be check-ins at points over the summer, and a run-through before the show.
- Performances: 12th and 13th Sept, provisionally booked at the Parrswood Inn

What acts can I put forward?
In the past we've had sketches, songs, rap battles, dances, comedy, poetry, improv... the lot!
What if I want to be involved but don't have an act?
Do come along to the evening on Monday the 16th if you can, and watch out for the google doc to sign up to auditions.
What if I can make some of these weeks, but not all?
The schedule above is flexible for people's availability. Eg. If you can make the 16th, but not the pitches evening on the 30th - feel free to catch one of the committee next week and have a chat then. Video pitches and auditions are also very much accepted!
Newsletter
We have a newsletter that gets sent out regularly with information about new productions, audition dates and other details about the group. It's the easiest way to keep up to date with the Didsbury Players and be reminded of when to get involved.
We have a very active presence on Facebook and you can always reach us there. Liking our Facebook Page is a very good way to keep up to date with what's going on.
