We're always looking for new members! Whether you want to act, direct or help behind the scenes, everyone is welcome.
We have no restrictions on joining (apart from being at least 18), though you will need to audition to be involved in a production. We meet on every Monday evening from 8pm in the function room of the Parrs Wood pub (356 Parrs Wood Rd, Manchester M20 6JD). Please feel free to drop by and see what we get up to!
We are pleased to announce that our next show is the pantomime, Rapunzel! Details on how to get involed below:
- Monday 29th September, 8pm at the Parrs Wood Inn - Script read through - Come along to read through the script, get a feel for the part(s) you'd like to audition for, or have a chat with the director regarding helping with backstage or tech!
- Monday 6th October, 8pm Parrs Wood Inn - Audition - You've had nearly a week to practice the audition pieces, it's time to show the panel what you can do! Don't be afraid if you've never auditioned before, our panel our very encouraging of all abilities.
- Wednesday 8th October, 8pm at the Parrs Wood Inn - Audition - second date, incase you were unable to attend the first.

- Rehearsals: Sundays at the Scout hut will be for choreography and song rehearsals, 6pm - 8pm. The schedule will be decided by the director and musical director. Mondays 8pm - 10pm at the Parrs Wood Inn.
Key Dates: You MUST be available for the following dates:
Saturday 17th January - 2pm - 10pm - This is our tech rehearsal and you be required to attend for the whole session unless the director says otherwise.
Saturday 24th January - 2pm - 10pm - Dress rehearsal day! The most important rehearsal date of them all! Please make sure you are available for the entire session.
Friday 30th & Saturday 31st January - The performance dates! Arrival at the United Didsbury Methodist church by 6pm for the evening shows, and by 12pm for the matinee please.
FAQ
What if I can't make a rehearsal?
You will be able to communicate directly with the team. Please try to give notice so we can plan rehearsals around absences, however we do understand emergences and illness occurs, in which case, please inform the director at your earlier convenience and get well soon! :-)
What if I can't make the auditions?
We will be offering a link to upload your video auditions! Please pop back here soon for further details!
What if I can't make the tech/dress rehearsal dates?
Please discuss this with the director in advance of auditioning. We do need a full ensemble for these days, but again, we understand emergencies and illness occur.
What if I can make the auditions, but I'm not available to rehearse straight away?
Let us know at the read through! We may have some chorus parts suitable for you!

We have a newsletter that gets sent out regularly with information about new productions, audition dates and other details about the group. It's the easiest way to keep up to date with the Didsbury Players and be reminded of when to get involved.
